L3 Technologies – Exhibitor profile

Booth 201, M12

Diamond Delegate Experience Sponsor

L3 Technologies is one of the world’s top ten defence contractors. In Canada, we are involved in a broad range of on-going programmes as a prime contractor, top-tier subcontractor and system provider.

This year at CANSEC, L3 Technologies is proud to exhibit leading-edge technology, products and services in support of Canada’s primary airborne, land-based and naval programmes. From booth #201, representatives from across L3’s Aerospace, Communications, Electronic and Sensor Systems Segments will showcase their “Strength in Capabilities and Passion for Innovation.”

Demonstrations and product displays include:

Aerospace Systems

A mock-up of the ARTEMIS Medium Altitude Long Endurance (MALE) Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) for Canada’s Remotely Piloted Aircraft System (RPAS) programme including a proposed ground control station.

Communication Systems Segment

The latest innovations on end-user mission awareness capabilities for communication systems.  Come and see how L3 exploits new technology, to dramatically increase user insight while simplifying operator input requirements.

A leading edge Network Control System that enables the Canadian Forces to bridge both C2 and ISR networks.

Turn-key SATCOM On-The-Move (SOTM) solutions that enable mobile and halted forces to collaborate, access Department of Defense Information Network (DoDIN) resources, and exchange voice, data and video in a tactical environment.

The DarkWing™, a small-form factor, lightweight, flat-panel VSAT.  This system provides high-speed data communications for Internet, VPN connectivity and video transmission.

Electronic Systems

A simulated Integrated Platform Management System (IPMS) showcased on our 86” video terminal demonstrating a flexible and adaptable user interface that manages naval platform machinery and damage control systems, equipment health monitoring functions, and provides on-board training.

Sensor Systems

The Widow Mission Management Software for ISR sensors (a commercial, non-ITAR, exportable version.) Using an emulator, the demonstration will be laptop based and allow interaction between the Widow software and one of WESCAM’s MX-Series EO/IR sensors.

Models of a Low Profile Photonics Mast, and M2534 Electro-Optical Sensor System. There will also be a full-scale mock-up of L3’s newly developed ‘SensorX” 360° imager.

A field-proven, convergent Modular Countermeasure Suite for Electronic Attack (MCS-EA) system which delivers networked Counter-Radio Controlled Improvised Explosive Device (C-RCIED), Electronic Attack and Electronic Surveillance capabilities in a single, compact man-pack solution.   L3 will also have on display CATAPAN High Assurance Encryption Solutions which provide secure network communications across IP networks.

Static variants of L3’s MX-10 and MX-15 surveillance systems. The MX-10 is a tactical light-weight system, popular with both Airborne Law Enforcement (ALE) and Military customers. The MX-15 is capable of much longer-range performance and is also used for ALE and Military applications. Last year, L3’s MX-15 was selected as the EO/IR system of choice for Canada’s FW SAR program.
